Lesson 3: biodiversityScientists estimate that there are more than three to 20 million kinds of organisms on Earth. Only about 1.5 million have been identified. In your Grade 7 Science, you explored the environment and found out that there are other group of organisms other than plants and animals.
In this chapter, you will explore the characteristics of different group of organisms that will lead you to understand the concept of biodiversity—its importance and the current challenges. We will go to the different places where these organisms lives, determine how they obtain their food, observe their different body structures and appreciate the roles they play in the environment.
